FAQS for Physiotherapy Services
Do I need a referral to book an appointment with Movement IQ?
No, you do not need a referral to see us. You can book directly with us by giving us a call or booking online. This includes ACC appointments where we can register the claim for you (no need to see a GP first to complete any ACC paperwork).
Can you treat ACC injuries?
Yes, we are ACC registered and can manage your claim. If you don’t have an ACC claim number, we can sort that out for you. If you do have one, add it to your consent form when prompted or bring it along to your appointment.
How long is a typical physiotherapy session?
Our initial appointment is 40minutes long, with follow up appointments being 30minutes long.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please wear appropriate clothing so that the physio can observe the injured area easily. For example, please wear (or bring) shorts to your appointment if you have a lower limb injury; and a singlet if we need to assess your shoulder. Clothes should also allow for movement, so make sure they’re comfortable or clothes that you would ordinarily exercise in.
Please also bring (or email through prior) any relevant ACC details, previous x-rays/scans or any other information that will assist the physio in your assessment.
How much does it cost to see a physio?
ACC covered injuries: ACC will cover a portion of your physio session, and there will be co-payment for you to pay as below:
- Initial/First session: $40
- Follow up session: $35
Private Injuries: For injuries not covered by ACC, our private fees are as follows:
- Initial/First session: $95
- Follow up session: $85
Strapping clinic:
Strapping only (no physio assessment/treatment): $18
Additional fees:
Your session fee does not cover additional items that you may need as part of your therapy such as strapping or equipment/braces. These vary in price and will be discussed with your prior to providing.
Is the physio clinic open on weekends?
Yes, the clinic is open on Saturdays. If you cannot see an open booking online, please contact us and we’ll assist you.
Do you provide crutches, moonboots or other braces?
Yes, we have crutches available for hire as well as a range of moonboots (camboots) and knee braces in stock. If you have an ACC covered injury, this will be fully funded with no direct cost to you.
We have a variety of other braces (e.g., tennis elbow, ankle) in stock, and if we don’t have what you need – we can order it in.
